7 sanitation workers killed in horrific crash on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

A horrific accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Delhi, April 26 (HS): A tragic accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Nuh, Haryana, claimed the lives of seven sanitation workers and critically injured five others on the morning of April 26.

The incident occurred when a speeding pickup truck veered off the road and collided with the workers performing their routine cleaning duties at around 10 AM. The driver fled the scene,abandoning the vehicle amidst the chaos.

The collision was devastating, with the victims’ bodies severely disfigured, complicating identification efforts.Six women died on the spot, and one man and four women were seriously injured. One of the injured men succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital. Two women are still in critical condition. Among the deceased women, four belong to the same family.

Emergency services transported the injured to Mandi Khera Hospital, where they are receiving urgent care.

An investigation is underway by the Ferozepur Jhirka police, focusing on CCTV footage and compiling evidence to determine the incident’s specifics.
