New Delhi, July 18(HS): The rupee closed weaker against the dollar today, slipping by 6 paise to 86.15, down from 86.09 in the last session. Initially, it gained 9 paise, trading at 86 rupees, but faced pressure during the day, dropping to 86.24. A subsequent dollar index weakness allowed it to recover, reaching 85.97, but foreign investor selling in the stock market increased dollar demand, leading to the final closing level.
