New Delhi, May 10 (H.S.): The announcement to halt military action and firing between India and Pakistan is not a formal ceasefire but merely a mutual understanding. Official sources have clarified that the agreement does not contain any preconditions or subsequent conditions. Furthermore, India will continue to suspend the Indus Water Treaty between the two countries.

According to sources, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan called the Indian DGMO on Saturday afternoon. Following this, discussions took place between the military officials of both countries, and it was agreed that all types of military action on land, sea, and air fronts would be halted.

However, it has been clarified that, following this understanding, no decision has been made to discuss any other issues at a neutral location for the time being. Amid this development, India has maintained its stance that there will be no leniency in its policy against terrorism.

Amid the agreement to cease firing and military action on the border between India and Pakistan, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has made it clear that India will not compromise on its stringent and unwavering stance against terrorism.

Earlier today, after a high-level meeting, official sources clarified that any terrorist activity carried out on Indian soil will now be considered a direct act of war against the country.

India and Pakistan have agreed to immediately halt all types of military actions along the border. This information was shared by India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during a press briefing on Saturday.

He stated that the DGMO of Pakistan called the Indian DGMO at 3:35 PM today to discuss a ceasefire between the two countries.
