Lucknow, 09 May (HS): Samajwadi
Party (SP) President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav congratulated and
wished the countrymen on Maharana Pratap Jayanti. On this occasion, he said
that after the formation of the Samajwadi Party government, the biggest statue
of Maharana Pratap will be installed on the Gomti Riverfront. He will also have
a golden sword in his hand.
Former Chief Minister Akhilesh
Yadav while addressing the journalists at SP state headquarters on Friday said
that during the SP government, one day holiday was given on the birth anniversary
of Maharana Pratap. We demand two days holiday on the birth anniversary of
Maharana Pratap. We will prepare for celebrating the birth anniversary on one
day and will celebrate the birth anniversary on the other day.
While answering the questions of
the journalists, Akhilesh Yadav said that there are good things as well as bad
things in history. Nowadays the government is changing history by changing
names. Ardh Kumbh has been renamed as Kumbh. My appeal is that festivals and
great men should not be brought into politics and benefits should not be taken
by using their names. Just like Maharana Pratap belongs to everyone, everyone
can celebrate his birth anniversary.
The SP president said that what the
government is doing in in the name of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s village.
A university has been built in his name, if our government comes, we will take
the university to his village. The government has closed the Saifai fair; the
fair is going on in Gorakhpur.
