Baba Ramdev assured Delhi High Court Rooh Afza video will be removed promptly

Delhi, 2 May (H.S.): In response to the plea regarding Rooh Afza, Baba Ramdev stated, It has not been 24 hours since the order; the video will be removed.

New Delhi, May 2 (H.S.): A hearing occurred today in the Delhi High Court concerning Baba Ramdev’s controversial remarks about Rooh Afza. Hamdard contended that Ramdev’s video has not been removed but made private, limiting access to his subscribers.

Ramdev’s representatives argued that 24 hours had not elapsed since the court’s directive, assuring all videos would be removed soon. Justice Amit Bansal scheduled the next hearing for May 9.

Hamdard pointed out that Ramdev’s statement continues to air on the Aastha channel, while Ramdev’s team pledged compliance with the court’s order within the specified timeframe. Following a reprimand on May 1, Ramdev had initially committed to removing his contentious video, which had resurfaced on April 29.

The court threatened to initiate contempt proceedings against him, asserting he operates undeterred. In the afternoon, Ramdev’s attorney confirmed the video’s removal. Hamdard’s counsel, Mukul Rohatgi, argued that Ramdev’s statements were defamatory and incited religious division, calling for stringent actions against him for past misleading claims regarding allopathy.

Ramdev’s statement regarding the funding of madrasas and mosques from Rooh Afza profits was also cited.
