Chennai, 29 April (H.S.) : Tamil Nadu Governor and BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan has expressed confidence that the BJP-AIADMK alliance will come to power in the state. This statement comes amid growing speculation about a possible alliance between the two parties for the 2026 Assembly elections.

The speculation gained momentum after AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Although Palaniswami clarified that no alliance talks were held during the meeting, the gathering fueled rumors about the party’s potential return to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fold.

According to Palaniswami, the AIADMK will decide on the alliance closer to the 2026 polls, taking into account the changing political landscape in Tamil Nadu. The emergence of new players, such as actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is expected to influence the party’s decision.

Tamilisai Soundararajan’s assertion about the BJP-AIADMK alliance coming to power reflects the growing optimism within the BJP about their prospects in the state.
