
Dhubri (Assam), 03 May (HS): The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started vigorous election campaign for the second phase of panchayat elections. A BJP election meeting was organized in Rangamati of Chapar assembly constituency of Dhubri district of Assam on Saturday, in which minister Ranjit Kumar Das participated.
In the meeting, Minister Das campaigned in support of BJP candidate Malika Das Lohar from Falimari Zilla Parishad seat and four other zonal panchayat candidates. During this, former MLA Ashok Kumar Singhi and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAC) executive member Sudhir Chandra Rai were also present with him.
In his address, Minister Das claimed that this time BJP will capture 75 % of the Zilla Parishad and Zonal Panchayat seats. He said that Malika Das Lohar will definitely win.
Targeting the Congress, Minister Das said that Congress is no longer there in Upper, Central and North Assam. He claimed that this time in lower Assam also the people of minority community will support BJP in the Panchayat elections. Along with this, he also attacked Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and said that Gogoi’s son is not an Indian and he has visited Pakistan, which should raise questions.
