New Delhi, May 10 (H.S.): Following the immediate declaration of ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the Congress party has demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to convene an all-party meeting and a special session of Parliament on Saturday.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on X that in light of the unprecedented announcements from Washington, D.C., it has now become a national necessity for the Prime Minister to preside over an all-party meeting to engage the country’s political parties, ensuring the protection of national interests during this critical time. He requested that a special session of Parliament be convened immediately to hold a detailed discussion on the events of the past 18 days, particularly regarding the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, and to determine the way forward, so that the country can collectively demonstrate its resolve.

Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that the military operation directors of India and Pakistan have agreed to cease all forms of firing and military action on land, air, and sea from 5 PM.
