
Kathmandu, May 15 (H.S.) : The Vice chairman of China’s National People’s Congress (NPC), which is China’s parliament, Xiao Jie, arrived in Kathmandu last night. He has come on a four-day visit to Nepal at the formal invitation of the Deputy Speaker of the Nepali Parliament’s House of Representatives.
Xiao Jie will lead the Chinese delegation at the Sagarmatha Dialogue program being held in Kathmandu from May 16 to 18. He was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Nepal’s Minister for Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi. The Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, was also present during this time.
The Chinese embassy stated that during the visit to Nepal, Xiao Ji will meet with Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahay Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire, and Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Dahal. He will also meet former President Bidhya Bhandari, former Prime Minister and Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.
