Drug smugglers are putting up on encroached land

Police is in ‘high josh’ to show smugglers their place

Drug aka ‘Chitta’ is now a no new word for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as it had spread its tentacles to almost each and every corner of the Union Territory. The police call it narco terrorism, maybe it is, but police was also in deep slumber until these smugglers started attacking its personnel.
Two spots in Bari Brahmana tehsil of Samba district became the epicenter of this trade, wherein, few members of a particular community got themselves involved into this as it lured them to easy money being unaware of its consequences.
In April this month SHO Bari Brahmana was brutally attacked by a group of drug smugglers when he was returning from a routine patrolling. He and his team was critically injured in the attack and
Pertinent to mention here that there are two main hotspots in Bari Brahmana one is near Sarore Adda and another is in Balole nallah. The members of a particular community have encroached upon government land near Sarore Adda and similarly they had encroached industries/railway land near Kikri Morh and Balole Khad near industrial area Bari Brahmana which needs to be retrieved. The police have played its role by putting, those involved, behind bars and many others are on the run. Now it is the turn of the civil administration to act and must issue an eviction order to retrieve government/industries/railway land which has been illegally occupied by these smugglers to bring an end to this menace.
If not done now, these smugglers will resettle at these places within few months again and resume their trade.
If sources are to be believed nearly 95 percent of those involved from these areas are either behind bars or on run. The police and public has full public support which wants a permanent solution to this menace and for this these people needs to be removed from these places.
From the past over a month no dead body has been recovered as it was being witnessed in the past. Various youth have lost their lives by overdosing themselves and their bodies were found from here and there by the police.
It is high time for the civil administration to support law enforcing agency and issue eviction orders to set an example that any plot to spoil the future of the nation will not be tolerated.
