CM Omar Abdullah states no ceasefire amid Pakistani drones in J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat; questions ceasefire status

J&K CM Omar Abdullah

Delhi, 10 May (H.S.): M Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed confusion and concern as he declared that “there is no ceasefire” in light of ongoing Pakistani drone activity across J&K, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

Following a brief period of hope after India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire set to begin at 5 PM, cross-border artillery shelling and drone attacks from Pakistan persisted, leading Abdullah to question, “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire?” He reported explosions in Srinagar, noting that Indian air defense systems were activated in response to air raid sirens.

Video footage captured by journalist Shiv Aroor showed Pakistani drones being intercepted by Indian defenses in Srinagar, with loud explosions echoing throughout the city.

Concurrently, alerts were issued in Barmer, Rajasthan, prompting an urgent blackout as drones were also reported in districts like Udhampur, and Pathankot and Amritsar in Punjab. Gujarat’s Kutch district saw drone sightings as well, with officials urging residents to remain calm amid the enforced blackouts. Overall, the situation remains tense, with many drones reportedly shot down by Indian forces as military readiness heightens across affected regions.
