
Imphal, 9 May (HS): Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) organized Tiranga Yatra in Imphal in support of the armed forces during Operation Sindoor. This yatra was taken out to show the unity of the country and the clear policy of Congress against terrorism.
Starting from Congress Bhawan, this nearly four kilometer long rally returned to the Congress office via North AOC. Many senior leaders including former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, AICC member Gaikhangam, MPCC President Kesham Meghchandra and former MP Thokchom Meinya participated in it.
Activists and common citizens waving the national flag participated with full enthusiasm. This event was organized in response to the situation including the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, for which Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba took responsibility.
Speaking to the media, former Chief Minister Ibobi Singh said that this yatra was done as per the instructions of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). He said that Congress strongly condemns terrorism and supports strict measures against terrorist networks.
Patriotic slogans, disciplined participation and message of unity during the rally filled the entire atmosphere with nationalistic spirit.
