


Delhi, 25 April (H.S.): The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), via its minerals research institute CSIR-IMMT, has signed two Joint Declarations of Intent (JDIs) with leading Russian institutions. These include the State Research and Design Institute of the Rare Metal Industry (JSC Giredmet), under Rosatom, and the National University of Science and Technology MISIS (NUST MISIS) in Moscow. The aim is to enhance collaboration in critical mineral processing and sustainable resource development. Dr. Ramanuj Narayan from CSIR-IMMT signed the agreements with Dr. Andrei I. Golinei from JSC Rosatom Science, and Dr. Michael R. Filonov from NUST MISIS.
Coordination is led by Dr. Kali Sanjay from CSIR-IMMT alongside Russian representatives from Giredmet and NUST MISIS. Shri Anoop Kumar Srivastava, Counsellor (Space) at the Indian Embassy in Moscow, supported these collaborations.
Additionally, on April 24, 2025, the CSIR-IMMT team, including Director Dr. Narayan and Chief Scientist Dr. Sanjay, met with Indian Ambassador to Russia, His Excellency Mr. Vinay Kumar, to discuss the significance of research and technology partnerships focused on critical minerals essential for Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat initiatives.
