
New Delhi, May 15 (H.S.): A delegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), led by national convener Arvind Kejriwal, met with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioner Dr. Sukbeer Singh Sandhu, and Dr. Vivek Joshi in the Election House on Thursday. This meeting took place as part of the discussions the Election Commission of India is holding with the presidents of various national and state political parties.
According to the Commission, these discussions are being held to share suggestions regarding the electoral process and the concerns of political parties. This allows national and state party presidents to directly communicate their suggestions and concerns with the Commission. This initiative aligns with the Commission’s broader perspective to strengthen the electoral process in accordance with the existing legal framework with all relevant voters and parties.
The Commission had previously met with a delegation of the Bahujan Samaj Party, led by President Mayawati, on May 6. The Commission is continuously meeting with representatives of various parties. A total of 4,719 multi-party meetings have been organized by the Commission, which include 40 meetings by CEOs, 800 by DEOs, and 3,879 by EROs. More than 28,000 representatives from various political parties participated in these meetings.
