Srinagar/Delhi, May 10 (H.S.): Raj Kumar Thappa, the Additional District Development Commissioner in Rajouri, has been martyred in the Pakistan firing incident. This tragic news was shared by the Chief Minister of the state, Omar Abdullah, on X this morning. He wrote, Sad news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service. Just yesterday, he was touring the district with the Deputy Chief Minister and participated in an online meeting chaired by me.

Expressing his anguish over the incident, Chief Minister Abdullah wrote, Today, Pakistani firing targeted the official’s residence, which hit the city of Rajouri, resulting in the death of our Additional District Development Commissioner, Mr. Raj Kumar Thappa. I have no words to express my shock and sorrow over this terrible loss of life and property. May his soul rest in peace.

In another post, Omar Abdullah wrote, I am not sure how the ‘international community’ thinks tensions in the subcontinent will be reduced when the IMF essentially reimburses Pakistan for all the weapons it is using to devastate Poonch, Rajouri, Uri, Tangdhar, and many other places.
