Shivpuri, April 26 (H.S.) : A fire erupted on Saturday in the eastern Madhav Tiger Reserve, near NH-27 in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh. Fueled by extreme heat and dry leaves, the blaze spread rapidly.
The park management promptly initiated firefighting efforts, and forest department officials reported it to be nearly under control, prioritizing the safety of the local wildlife, particularly three adult tigers and two cubs in the area.
Continuous monitoring and additional resources have been deployed due to the fire’s potential to spread. Ranger RK Dixit indicated that initial investigations point to a discarded bidi or cigarette as the cause, with the fire affecting approximately one hectare of land.
