Four Children and Nine Women killed in Chattisgarh road accident

Raipur, May 12 (H.S.) : On Sunday midnight, a tragic road accident near Kharora, close to Raipur on the Raipur-Balodabazaar Road, resulted in the deaths of 13 people after a Mazda collided first with a trailer and then with a dumper. Over 10 individuals were injured and admitted to the Medical College Hospital in Raipur. Raipur Collector Gaurav Singh reported that many of the deceased were village residents from the Kharora area.

Among the victims were four children and nine women, including Tikeshwari Sahu (45), Eklavya Sahu (6), Prabha Sahu (34), and others, hailing from various villages like Mohandi, Gondwara, Anandgaon, and Nagora Mandir. The villagers from Chataud were traveling in the Mazda to attend a Chhatti program in Bana Banarasi when the accident occurred near Saragaon. The trailer, which had an iron structure protruding, caused severe damage after the Mazda struck it, leading to a collision with a dumper. Police plan to register a case of involuntary manslaughter, and all three vehicle drivers are in custody. Local MLAs and officials visited the hospital to check on the injured.
