Georgetown (Guyana)/Paris (France), May 26 (HS): Members of the Indian parliamentary multi-party delegation, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, briefed Guyana’s Vice President Bharat Jagdev about India’s Operation Sunder in the fight against terrorism from Pakistan. On this occasion, Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo stated that his country is fully with India in the fight against terrorism. Meanwhile, it has been reported that a multi-party delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad has already arrived in the French capital, Paris.
Vice President Jagdeo of Guyana remarked that it is a remarkable visit for the Indian delegation. Guyana stands completely united with India. Guyana is against terrorism. Those conducting terrorist activities in India’s Pahalgam should be brought to justice. After the meeting with the Vice President of Guyana, Congress MP Tharoor said it was an unprecedented meeting. Bharat is a friend of our country and he showed great understanding of our position regarding the current events with our neighbor (Pakistan).
Shashi Tharoor stated that India’s message is very clear. The world must stand against terrorism. We need to bring wicked killers to justice, and we must also seriously challenge those who finance, train, and direct them. Tharoor noted that this is something India has been enduring for decades. Now we need to send them (the neighbor) the message that they will have to pay the price for this. The meeting of the Indian delegation with Bharat Jagdev took place at the President’s residence.
Tharoor further mentioned that discussions also covered numerous topics related to Guyana’s record-breaking 30 percent annual economic growth and development plans following oil and gas exploration. Significant opportunities for Indian companies across sectors ranging from agriculture to telecommunications, banking, and highway development were highlighted. Guyana is also facing a shortage of labor and is open to accepting Indian workers.
A multi-party delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad has arrived in Paris, France. This delegation is visiting France, Italy, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Germany to demonstrate India’s ongoing fight against terrorism and Operation Sunder.
