Hyderabad, 18 May (H.S.): A fire erupted at Gulzar House near Charminar in Hyderabad at 6 am on May 18, as reported by a fire official. Eleven fire vehicles were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze, which had been releasing large clouds of black smoke, prompting panic among locals. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

In a related incident from May 14, a significant fire broke out in a three-storey building in Begum Bazar, where firefighting personnel managed to rescue a woman. Tragically, on May 15, a private bus caught fire in the Mohanlalganj area, claiming the lives of five individuals, including two women, two children, and a man.

The bus, which had 80 passengers aboard and was traveling from Begusarai, Bihar to Delhi, reportedly caught fire due to a suspected short circuit in the gearbox. Most passengers were asleep when the fire ignited, causing rapid spread and hindering their escape. Additionally, the bus’s emergency exit malfunctioned, trapping passengers at the back. An investigation into the exact cause of the bus fire has been initiated by the authorities.
