
Delhi, 17 May (H.S.): The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), in collaboration with the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), conducted its second batch certification program for senior defence officers from May 5 to May 16, 2025, at the IICA Campus in Manesar, Gurugram. The two-week program included 30 senior officers from the Air Force, Navy, and Army, holding ranks such as Air Marshals, Vice Admirals, and Major Generals. The valedictory session was chaired by Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, DG & CEO of IICA, alongside Lt. Gen. SBK Singh and VAdm. Rajaram Swaminathan. They discussed parallels between military and corporate experiences, emphasizing that the values of ethics and integrity, which are fundamental in good governance, are prevalent among armed forces personnel. This unique set of skills and experiences equips veterans to be effective changemakers in the corporate world.
Singh outlined the vital roles veterans can play in the emerging corporate landscape, drawing attention to the efficiency and productivity of the armed forces. He urged leveraging these competencies towards achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in generating employment, particularly through the MSME sector. Dr. Niraj Gupta, Head of the School of Corporate Governance & Public Policy, expressed gratitude to participants for their commitment throughout the program. He emphasized the program’s aim to enhance understanding of corporate governance and the responsibilities of Independent Directors. The certification ceremony and proceedings were managed by Dr. Anindita Chakrabarti and CS Asheesh Kumar. IICA remains committed to promoting good governance and responsible business practices.
