India to approach UNSC for sanctions against The Resistance Front: MEA

MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal

New Delhi, May 13 (H.S.): The Ministry of External Affairs clarified that during Operation Sindoor, the international community did not weigh India and Pakistan on the same scale, but rather made a clear distinction between India, the victim of terrorism, and Pakistan, the sponsor.

Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at a weekly press conference on Tuesday that the belief held by some parties that world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, have treated India and Pakistan as equals or viewed them together is incorrect. The reality is contrary to this. Immediately after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, world leaders condemned the incident and clearly distinguished between India, the victim of terrorism, and Pakistan, the sponsor.

It is noteworthy that there is a perception in the media, political, and diplomatic circles that after decades, the global community is assessing India and Pakistan on an equal footing. Appeals for peace and normalcy are being made to both countries alike. Pakistani leaders are also claiming that recent developments have brought the Kashmir issue back to the forefront.

The spokesperson referenced a resolution passed by the United Nations Security Council, stating that major countries have emphasized the need for clear action against those responsible for and sponsoring the pahalgam attack.
