India vs India A intra-squad game: Sarfaraz Khan smashed 76-ball hundred for India A

Delhi, 15 June (H.S.): Right-handed batter Sarfaraz Khan, excluded from India’s squad for the five-match series against England, is striving to impress selectors. During an intra-squad match for India A in Beckenham, he scored 101 runs off 76 balls, hitting 15 fours and two sixes before retiring. Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of selectors, and NCA head VVS Laxman attended the closed-door match, inaccessible to media and fans.

Sarfaraz’s omission from the national team raised eyebrows, but he responded positively, scoring 92 runs in the first unofficial Test against England Lions in Canterbury. In total, he has played six Tests for India, accumulating 371 runs at an average of 37.10. Despite a strong performance with 150 runs in a previous Test against New Zealand, he faced challenges in subsequent matches against the same team.
