IPL 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) make team changes

New Delhi, May 19 (H.S.): For the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have made changes to their respective teams. Kolkata Knight Riders have included Shivam Shukla in place of West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell. Similarly, Royal Challengers Bangalore have included Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani in place of South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi.

Powell is out of the tournament due to a tonsil surgery. Shivam Shukla, who has been brought in as his replacement, is a leg-spinner representing Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket. He has been signed for INR 30 lakhs. Royal Challengers Bangalore has included Zimbabwe’s fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani in place of South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi, who will leave the IPL to join the national team on May 26, 2025. In this context, RCB has made Muzarabani a part of the team for INR 75 lakhs.

Blessing Muzarabani has played 70 T20 international matches so far, during which he has taken 78 wickets. Additionally, he has also represented Zimbabwe in 12 Tests and 55 ODIs. Given his experience, RCB hopes that he will strengthen their bowling department.

These two changes in the final stages of the IPL could prove to be decisive for the teams.
