Tehran, May 23 (H.S.):Iran has warned that if Israel attacks its nuclear sites, it will hold the United States fully responsible for it. This strong statement comes at a time when a crucial fifth round of negotiations regarding Iran’s nuclear program is set to take place between Iran and the United States.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated in a letter sent to the United Nations on Thursday, Iran strongly warns against any reckless actions by the Zionist regime (Israel) and will respond decisively to any illegal or provocative steps.

According to recent reports in U.S. media, American intelligence agencies have learned that Israel is planning to attack Iran’s nuclear sites, with or without U.S. consent, in the event of failed negotiations. Israel has publicly stated on several occasions that it may resort to military action to prevent Iran’s nuclear program at any cost.

In light of this report, Araqchi stated that Tehran would consider the U.S. a participant in any such attack and would take special measures to ensure the security of its nuclear materials and sites. He also clarified that details of these measures would later be communicated to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

This development comes at a time when indirect negotiations are taking place in Rome, mediated by Oman, between the U.S. and Iran, aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear agreement (JCPOA). It is believed that if the negotiations fail, the possibility of another serious military conflict in the Middle East cannot be ruled out.
