
New Delhi, May 16 (H.S.): Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced a ‘De-addiction Journey’ on Friday amid the ongoing War against Drugs in Punjab. This initiative has been launched by the government to eliminate drug abuse in the state.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also join him in this effort. He stated that the ‘De-addiction Journey’ will reach every village and ward in Punjab to strengthen the people’s commitment against drug abuse and drug sales.
In a post on X, AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal mentioned that the De-addiction Journey is starting in Punjab from today. This journey will go to every village and every ward in Punjab. Through this journey, people will now be connected to the de-addiction campaign. In every village and every ward, people will take an oath that they will not indulge in substance abuse, will not allow anyone in the area to sell drugs, and will ensure treatment for those addicted to drugs to help them recover from addiction.
Kejriwal stated that the Punjab government has made extensive arrangements for the treatment of drug addicts. The Punjab family, comprising three crore members, will now ensure that they eliminate drug addiction from Punjab.
He remarked that in the last two and a half months, the Punjab Police and the Punjab government have launched a war against drugs. For the first time, action is being taken against drug traffickers on such a large scale.
