Argentinian manager Luis zubeldia

Rio de Janeiro, June 17 (H.S.): The Brazilian football club São Paulo has sacked Argentine manager Luis zubeldia due to poor performance. The club announced this information in an official statement on Monday. São Paulo’s performance in the Brazilian Serie A league has been disappointing so far. The team is currently 14th in the table of 20 teams, with only two wins in 12 matches. However, in the Copa Libertadores, the club has performed better, topping its group and will now play the pre-quarterfinals against Colombia’s Atlético Nacional in August. The statement released by the club said, It has been mutually agreed and decided amicably that Luis zubeldia will no longer lead the team. Zubeldia took charge of the team in April 2024, and during his tenure, São Paulo won 38 matches, drew 27, and faced defeat in 20.

According to media reports, former Argentine striker Hernán Crespo is considered the strongest candidate for the new coach of São Paulo. Crespo had previously been the coach of São Paulo for eight months in 2021. He parted ways with the UAE club Al Ain in November 2024 and has been out of coaching since then.
