Madhyamik Exam Results Announced: Adrit Sarkar from Raiganj Tops, 66 Students in Top 10 List

Kolkata, 2 May (H.S.) – The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the Madhyamik (secondary) examination results for 2025 on Friday. This year, Adrit Sarkar from Raiganj Girls’ High School secured the first position in the state by scoring an impressive 696 marks, showcasing her academic brilliance across the state.

Joint Second Position Secured by Students from Malda and Bankura

Two students shared the second spot: Anubhav Biswas of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyapith, Malda, and Soumya Pal of Bishnupur High School, Bankura, both scoring 694 marks. Speaking to reporters, Anubhav shared his aspiration to become a doctor and mentioned his plans to continue his higher education under the Delhi Board. He also revealed his love for detective stories.

Ishani Chakraborty from Bankura clinched the third position with 693 marks. The fourth spot was jointly held by Mohammad Salim of Purba Bardhaman and Supratik Manna of Purba Medinipur, each securing 692 marks. According to the board, a total of 66 students found a place in the top 10 merit list this year, with a significant representation of girls.

Board President Dr. Ramanuj Ganguly announced that the pass percentage for this year stood at 86.56%, a slight increase compared to last year’s 86.31%. He expressed satisfaction over the consistent performance and progress.

Purba Medinipur Retains Top District Rank

As in previous years, Purba Medinipur district topped the pass percentage chart, followed by Kalimpong. Kolkata secured the third spot, while Paschim Medinipur displayed commendable results.

A total of 9,12,598 students appeared for the Madhyamik examination this year, which was conducted across 2,675 centres statewide. The board reported that the examination process was smooth and peaceful, with stringent security arrangements in place.

Students can check their results on the official website of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education: www.wbbse.wb.gov.in. Additionally, results are available via SMS, and for the first time, the board launched a mobile app to make it easier for students to access their scores.

The results were officially announced at a press conference held at the board’s office in Kolkata. Board President Dr. Ramanuj Ganguly and the Secretary were present during the announcement. Dr. Ganguly highlighted that students from rural areas had shown remarkable performance this year. The press conference began at 9:00 AM, and the results were made public at 9:30 AM.

The board has advised students and guardians to collect mark sheets and pass certificates from their respective schools. In case of any discrepancies or issues related to the results, students are encouraged to contact their regional offices.
