Marc Marquez wins Aragon Grand Prix

Ducati's star rider Marc Marquez

Alcañiz (Spain), June 9(HS): Ducati’s Marc Márquez dominated the Aragon Grand Prix, starting from pole position and securing his seventh victory of the season, marking a record seventh win at the MotorLand circuit. His younger brother, Alex Márquez, finished second, and Francesco Bagnaia took third, resulting in a Ducati sweep of the podium. Throughout the weekend, Márquez led all practice sessions, qualifying, warm-up, and the race, an achievement last accomplished by him in 2015. He remarked on the importance of this consistency and celebrated the win with Alex.

Before the race, playful banter on social media highlighted the rivalry between the Márquez brothers regarding their mother’s support. Post-race, Marc gifted their mother a red Ducati shirt, adding to the memorable day, which concluded with both brothers dancing together in front of cheering fans.

Márquez’s strong race start allowed him to secure the lead, while Alex maintained second amid competition from Bagnaia and KTM’s Pedro Acosta. Despite experiencing a crash, Bagnaia managed to stabilize his position. With this victory, Márquez has built a 32-point lead over Alex in the championship standings, with Bagnaia trailing by 93 points, solidifying Marc as a formidable title contender this season.
