Delhi, 1 June (H.S.): Nauman Niaz, a prominent cricket historian and TV personality, has issued a legal notice to ex-Pakistani bowler Shoaib Akhtar for defamation. This action follows Shoaib’s comments labeling Niaz a kit man during their time with the national team, implying he merely carried players’ bags. Shoaib stated on a podcast that Dr. Niaz’s primary role was to assist with luggage, diminishing his contributions. Dr. Niaz previously served as the Pakistan team’s data analyst on several tours, but Shoaib questioned the significance of his involvement beyond that task.
