Chennai, 13 May (H.S.): A recent operation by authorities has led to the rescue of 16 members of the Irular community, including nine minors, from bonded labor in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The rescued individuals were reportedly forced to work in inhumane conditions.

The authorities acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid, leading to the rescue of the bonded laborers. The rescued individuals are receiving support and assistance from local authorities and social organizations.

An investigation is underway to identify those responsible for subjecting the Irulars to bonded labor. Authorities are working to ensure the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.
