Bhubaneswar, 11 May (H.S.): In a major relief to families back home, a group of Odia students studying in Jammu returned safely to Odisha this morning after facing days of uncertainty and fear amid escalating India-Pakistan border tensions.
These students, enrolled at the Central Sanskrit University in Jammu, found themselves in a precarious situation as the region witnessed intensified cross-border hostilities, including drone intrusions from Pakistan and retaliatory actions by Indian armed forces. Though a ceasefire agreement was reached on Saturday, tensions remain high following further provocations from across the border.
With Pakistani drones repeatedly targeting civilian areas in Jammu, the university authorities, in coordination with the Odisha government, made prompt arrangements to relocate the students to Delhi for their safety. Recognizing the anxiety and fear gripping the students and their families, both the central and state governments worked closely to ensure their swift and secure return home.
The safe arrival of the students brought immense emotional relief to their families, many of whom had been anxiously awaiting news of their wellbeing. Several parents expressed gratitude to the authorities for their timely response and coordination.
