Odisha Government Cancels Leaves of RDCs, District Collectors Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

Bhubaneswar, 10 May (H.S.): In response to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Odisha government has issued a directive cancelling all leaves of senior administrative officials, including Regional Development Commissioners (RDCs) and District Collectors.

A notification released on Saturday by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department directs all concerned officers currently on leave to return to their respective headquarters and resume duty without delay. The measure is aimed at ensuring administrative preparedness to manage any potential emergency arising from the evolving situation.

“In view of the ongoing war-like conditions on the western front of the country, all leaves sanctioned earlier in favour of all RDCs and Collector & DMs are hereby cancelled,” the order stated. “All RDCs and Collector & DMs on leave are instructed to return to headquarters and join duty immediately. No further leave shall be granted during this period,” the directive added.

The notification was issued under the authority of Additional Secretary to the Government, Manoj Kumar Mohanty.
