India launches Operation Sindoor strikes in terror camps

– No Pakistani citizens, economic or military bases were targeted

New Delhi, May 7 (H.S.): India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ at midnight on Tuesday, keeping in mind the demands of the widowed women from the 26 tourists killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attack. India carried out attacks on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir using Hammer, Scalp, and missiles without crossing the border, destroying the bases of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

The military strikes were carried out under Operation Sindoor, the Defence Ministry said in a statement at 1.44 am. It said the actions by the Indian armed forces were focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature.

Following this, Pakistan began heavy shelling along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army has responded accurately to the Pakistani firing along the LoC.

In retaliation for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India conducted precise missile strikes on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) after midnight on Tuesday.

Under ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian Army and Air Force carried out a joint operation using precision strike weapons on nine terrorist bases located in Pakistan and POK. Without crossing the border, fighter jets Rafale and Sukhoi were used to carry out attacks on terrorist camps in Muzaffarabad, Sialkot, Kotli, Gulpur, Bhunewal, Muridke, and Bahawalpur with Hammer and Scalp missiles.

In Jammu and Kashmir, Indian armed forces attacked the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir as part of ‘Operation Sindoor’, where plans for terrorist attacks against India were being made and executed. The Indian Army selected the locations for attacks intending to target the top leadership of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar, which played a role in sponsoring terrorist activities in India. The attacks utilized precision strike weapon systems from all three services: the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, including loitering munitions. These attacks were carried out solely from Indian territory.

India’s actions have been focused and precise. No Pakistani civilians, economic or military sites were targeted. Only known terrorist camps were aimed at.

Immediately after the attacks, NSA Ajit Doval spoke with the American NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to inform them about the actions taken. India has credible leads, technical information, testimonies from survivors, and other evidence pointing to the clear involvement of Pakistan-based terrorists in this attack.

The targets of India’s actions include the headquarters of Jaish located in Bahawalpur, which is 100 km away from the international border. Similarly, there is a base of Lashkar located in Muridke, from where the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai were planned and executed. The devastated terrorist camp in Gulpur from India’s attack was responsible for the Poonch-Rajouri attacks and the bus attack in June 2024. The Sawai camp in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir is considered the root of the attacks in Sonamarg, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam.

Similarly, the destroyed Bilal camp served as a launching pad for Jaish. The Kotli camp had a capacity of 50 terrorists and was a base for Lashkar bombers. The destroyed Barnala camp was located 10 km in front of Rajouri. The Jaish base at Sarjal camp in Samba-Kathua was near the international border. The destroyed Nawaan terrorist base, the Mahmoona camp, is a terrorist camp of Hizbul Mujahideen located 15 km away from the international border near Sialkot.
