
New Delhi, May 10 (HS): The US Secretary of State engaged in discussions with the Indian Foreign Minister and the Chiefs of Army Staff and Foreign Minister of Pakistan today, raising hopes for reduced tensions between the two countries.
Following targeted military actions last night, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed optimism during a TV interview, suggesting recent diplomatic efforts might pave the way for dialogue. He emphasized that India should cease hostile activities, which would lead to a reciprocal response from Pakistan, expressing a desire for peace and economic focus instead of conflict.India has yet to respond officially but has reiterated its commitment to a balanced approach to security.
The Indian Foreign Secretary stated that the Indian Army prefers de-escalation if Pakistan does likewise, maintaining readiness to respond to provocations.
