30 April (HS): Frontline staff i.e. Loco
Pilots, Assistant Loco Pilots and Train Managers play a vital role to ensure
smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all types of trains. As such, NCR has
prioritized to improve safety in train operation.
In
a meeting held on Wednesday at North Central Railway, Headquarters/Prayagraj,
General Manager/North Central Railway UC Joshi emphasized the need for
significant improvement in the crew monitoring and counseling system through
safety seminars and family seminars. Apart from this, he also directed that
frequent and intensive inspections of important assets be carried out by
officers & supervisors to ensure improvements and timely training to the
Loco Pilots (LPs) to accept challenge for operation of trains at 160 kmph to be
implemented shortly.
Principal
Chief Electrical Engineer, North Central Railway, Yatendra Kumar emphasized the
importance of continuous efforts to prevent operational failures due to crew
and said that focused and structured training of newly recruited Assistant Loco
Pilots should be imparted. Also, technical upgradation and regular
interaction/counselling with the crew will help in achieving Mission Zero
Accident.
All
the PHODs, HODs from Headquarters and other Electrical/Operational officers and
staff from Divisions and DFCCIL were present in the meeting. The meeting was
conducted by Sanjeev Kumar, Chief Electrical Locomotive Engineer and commitment
was given that safe train operations will be ensured through prompt implementation
of the instructions.
