
New Delhi, May 12 (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow on Monday over the deaths in a road accident in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The Prime Minister also wished for the quick recovery of the injured in the accident.
He announced an ex-gratia amount of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured. The Prime Minister’s office stated in a follow-up message that he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to the road accident in Raipur. He expressed condolences to those who have lost their loved ones and wished for the swift recovery of the injured. Each family of the deceased will receive an ex-gratia amount of ₹2 lakh, and the injured will receive ₹50,000.
13 people lost their lives and 10 others were injured on Sunday night when a Mazda collided with a trailer and then a dumper near Saragaon on the Raipur-Balodabazar road, close to the capital Raipur.
