Posters in Varanasi portray PM Modi as lion and Pak's Shahbaz Sharif as jackal

Varanasi, 10 May (HS): Amid continuous animosity between New

Delhi and Islamabad following the Pahalgam terror incident, posters in Varanasi

depict Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a lion and his Pakistani counterpart

Shahbaz Sharif as a jackal. Furthermore, worshipers applied vermilion to Lord

Bhairav of Varanasi and prayed to him for the success of Operation Sindoor.

The revelations come amid a growing dispute with Pakistan,

following a terror assault in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, in

which 25 tourists were slaughtered at point-blank range in front of their

families. A local also died in the

horrible tragedy. The posters in the Bhojubeer and Shivpur regions of Varanasi

represent the Pakistani prime minister as a jackal and Prime Minister Modi as a

lion. The

poster affixed with caption in Hindi reads as folows: ‘Sher, sher hota hai;

geedad, geedad hota hai’. Prime Minister Modi’s Lok Sabha seat is Varanasi.

Abhishek Upadhyay, a social worker who put up the poster, said he did it to

show Pakistan that people who carry out terrorism in India like jackals should

now know that Prime Minister Modi is a lion. If the lion awakens, these

Pakistani jackals will be exterminated from their area, according to Upadhyay. Prayers

were performed for the success of India’s Operation Sindoor by applying vermilion

to Lord Bhairav’s idol at Kajjakpura, Varanasi.

Shivam Agrahari, district coordinator of Namami Gange Ganga

Vichar Manch, stated, For the success of India’s Operation Sindoor, we

all prayed by applying vermilion to Baba Bhairav on Saturday. During this time, ladies held photographs of

fighter aircraft Rafale and INS Vikrant and prayed to Baba Bhairav for India’s

victory and to strengthen our warriors. On this occasion, devotees yelled

chants such as ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Aatankvad Murdabad’, and ‘Pakistan

Murdabad’.
