Nagpur, 06 May (HS): The Supreme Court has directed the Maharashtra Election Commission to complete the elections of local bodies within four months. The notification relating to the elections should be issued within four weeks.

The reservations

of seats will be as per the J K Banthia Commission’s recommendations of 2022,

which includes reservations for OBC category candidates.

The election procedure has to be completed within four months, the apex court has said. The directions were issued following a dispute relating to the reservation of seats, which went to the level of the Supreme Court.
