New Delhi, June 24 (H.S.): Allrounders Shreyanka Patil and Shikha Pandey are set to return to the Women’s Caribbean Premier League, commencing September 6, 2025. Patil, recovering from a hand fracture after a shin injury, has been drafted by Barbados Royals, formerly with Guyana Amazon Warriors, as they aim for a third consecutive title. Pandey has been retained by Trinbago Knight Riders after a strong previous season.
The Royals, led by Hayley Matthews, maintain a solid core, welcoming Kycia Knight and featuring returning players like Georgia Redmayne and Chamari Athapathththu. The Knight Riders, 2024 runners-up, will be captained by veteran Deandra Dottin, supported by younger talents like Jahzara Claxton and Zaida James, and experienced players such as Shabika Gajnabi. Returning Australian allrounder Jess Jonassen joins Pandey, complemented by the signing of Lizelle Lee for her WCPL debut and legspinner Salonee Dangore.
Guyana hosts the tournament, retaining experienced players like Stafanie Taylor and Shabnim Ismail while adding Australian Madeline Penna. The round-robin format features each team facing opponents twice, with the top two vying for the title on September 17 at the Guyana National Stadium.
