
New Delhi, July 4(HS): Domestic stock markets faced pressure during early trading today, starting with a slight gain. Following market opening, buying support initially led to a minor uptick in the Sensex and Nifty indices. However, this was followed by selling pressure, resulting in declines. By 10 AM, the Sensex showed a weakness of 0.02 percent while the Nifty declined by 0.03 percent.
Major companies like Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Shriram Finance, Bharat Electronics, and Wipro reported gains between 2.93 percent and 0.69 percent, while Trent Limited, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, SBI Life Insurance, and Nestlé saw declines ranging from 7.16 percent to 0.52 percent. Out of 2,416 actively trading stocks, 1,563 were in the green and 853 in the red. In the Sensex, 12 stocks were in the green, while 18 faced selling pressure; in the Nifty, 18 stocks rose and 32 fell.
The BSE’s Sensex opened at 83,306.81 points with a gain of 67.34 points, peaking at 83,441.95 points before declining to 83,224.69 points, down by 14.78 points by 10 AM. Similarly, the NSE’s Nifty opened at 25,428.85 points with a rise of 23.55 points, reached 25,458.65 points, then fell to 25,398.85 points, reflecting a decline of 6.45 points. On the previous trading day, the Sensex closed at 83,239.47 points, down 0.20 percent, while the Nifty ended at 25,405.30 points, a 0.19 percent decline.
