
New Delhi, June 9(HS): The domestic stock market is showing an upward trend during early trading today, starting with strength. A tug of war between buyers and sellers caused fluctuations in the first hour, but strong buying kept the indices, Sensex and Nifty, in the green. After the first hour, the Sensex was up by 0.42% and the Nifty by 0.44%. Major stocks like Kotak Mahindra, Jio Financial, Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finance, and Tata Motors gained between 2.94% and 1.62%. Conversely, ICICI Bank, HDFC Life, Bharti Airtel, SBI Life Insurance, and Apollo Hospital experienced losses ranging from 0.83% to 0.41%.
So far, 2,486 shares were actively traded, with 1,977 in the green and 509 in the red. Among the 30 Sensex shares, 21 were up and 9 down, while in the Nifty, 33 shares were positive against 17 negative. The BSE Sensex opened at 82,574.55 points, climbing to 82,669 points before dipping to 82,434.77 points due to selling pressure. By 10:15 AM, it was at 82,536.24 points, up 347.25 points. The NSE Nifty started at 25,160.10 points, rose to a brief high, then fell to 25,077.15 points, but ultimately traded at 25,112.70 points, a rise of 109.65 points after the first hour. Last Friday, the Sensex closed at 82,188.99 points, up 746.95 points, and the Nifty finished at 25,003.05 points, up 252.15 points.
