
New Delhi, May 2 (H.S.):The domestic stock market appears to be in a bullish mood during early trading today. The trading began with a mixed start. The Sensex managed to open with a slight gain, while the Nifty started trading with a decline. As soon as the market opened, there was a brief downturn due to selling pressure, but shortly after, buying began, leading to a strong upturn in both the Sensex and Nifty indices. Before 10 AM, the Sensex jumped to surpass the 81,000 mark, while the Nifty crossed the 24,500 point level. After the first hour of trading, the Sensex was trading with a strength of 1.14 percent and the Nifty was up by 1.04 percent.
After the initial hour of trading, among the stock market’s major shares, Hindalco Industries, Maruti Suzuki, IndusInd Bank, Adani Enterprises, and Axis Bank were trading with gains ranging from 3.87 percent to 1.56 percent. On the other hand, shares of Eicher Motors, Nestlé, Bajaj Finserv, Power Grid Corporation, and Shriram Finance were trading with declines ranging from 2.37 percent to 0.27 percent.
So far in trading, 2,355 shares were actively traded in the stock market. Of these, 1,679 shares were trading in the green, making a profit, while 676 shares were in the red, incurring losses. Similarly, out of the 30 shares included in the Sensex, 26 shares were supported by buying and remained in the green. On the other hand, 4 shares were trading in the red under selling pressure. Meanwhile, out of the 50 shares included in the Nifty, 42 shares were trading in the green, while 8 shares were in the red.
The BSE’s Sensex opened today with a gain of 57.95 points at the level of 80,300.19 points. Shortly after the start of trading, due to selling pressure, the index fell to a low of 80,235.36 points. However, after the first 10 minutes of trading, buyers began to pick up momentum, resulting in an upward movement of the index. Amid continuous buying and selling in the market, after the initial hour of trading, at 10:15 AM, the Sensex was trading at 81,153.98 points, up by 911.74 points.
In contrast to the Sensex, the NSE’s Nifty started trading with a decline of 22.30 points at the level of 24,311.90 points. After the market opened, this index slipped to a level of 24,305.85 points. Following this, buyers aggressively started purchasing, causing the index to gain momentum. After the first hour of trading amid ongoing buying and selling, at 10:15 AM, the Nifty had jumped by 252.50 points, reaching the level of 24,586.70 points.
Previously, on the last trading day, Wednesday, the Sensex closed at 80,242.24 points, down 46.14 points or 0.06 percent. Meanwhile, the Nifty ended Wednesday’s trading at 24,334.20 points, down 1.75 points or 0.01 percent.
