Stock market surges, with Sensex and Nifty rising

Delhi, 26 June (H.S.): The domestic stock market is showing an upward trend in early trading today, starting with gains. Initially, there was a slight pullback due to selling, but aggressive buying quickly resumed, leading to a bullish trend. By 10 AM, the Sensex was up by 0.66 percent, and the Nifty increased by 0.69 percent. Major stocks like Jio Financial, Bajaj Finance, Shriram Finance, Bharti Airtel, and Grasim Industries recorded gains between 2.04 percent and 1.21 percent. Conversely, shares of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Motors, and Trent Limited experienced declines from 1.27 percent to 0.56 percent.

In total, 2,376 stocks were actively trading, with 1,600 stocks in the green and 775 in the red. Among the 30 stocks in the Sensex, 24 were in the green, while in the Nifty, 40 of the 50 stocks saw gains. The BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 127.41 points, reaching 82,882.92 points, and after a slight dip to 82,816.26 points, it rose to 83,304.55 points, up by 549.04 points by 10 AM. The NSE Nifty began at 25,268.95 points, fell to 25,259.90 points briefly, before recovering to 25,417.75 points, up by 173 points. On the previous trading day, the Sensex closed at 82,755.51 points, while the Nifty ended at 25,244.75 points.
