New Delhi, May 16 (H.S): Chief Minister Rekha Gupta supported the boycott of Turkish goods by traders, asserting the need to sever trade ties with nations that support terrorism against India. During her inspection of Azadpur Mandi, where Labour Minister Kapil Mishra accompanied her, Gupta commended traders for their patriotic stance in boycotting Turkish apples. She criticized the deplorable conditions of Delhi’s mandis, noting a severe lack of basic facilities and no development for the past 10-15 years.
Gupta accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of turning mandis into corrupt environments despite claims of modernizing Delhi. She emphasized that thousands of laborers and traders operate in unhygienic, unsafe conditions, lacking roads and security. Following her discussions with traders, farmers, and commission agents at Azadpur Mandi, Gupta vowed to modernize these facilities and instructed officials to enhance cleanliness and safety, aiming for organized and farmer-friendly mandis in Delhi.
