Islamabad, May 2 (HS): A tragic road accident in Gilgit-Baltistan claimed the lives of eight family members yesterday evening. The crash happened in Matta Banda, Lower Kohistan, on the Karakoram Highway near the Indus River. A car traveling from Gilgit-Baltistan to Punjab lost control and plunged into a gorge during a sharp turn.
Superintendent of Police Taimur Khan confirmed the recovery of all eight bodies, including Asif Iqbal, his wife Memoona, their four children, and two relatives. The highway is known for its dangerous turns, leading to frequent accidents.
