Washington, 28 April (H.S.): Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists, the United States urged both nations to seek a responsible resolution. The US State Department stated it is in contact with both governments and is closely monitoring the evolving situation. It condemned the attack and expressed support for India, echoed by President Trump and Vice President Vance.
In contrast, China, backing Pakistan, called for restraint from both sides. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in a conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, emphasized the need for an impartial investigation and reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s security concerns. Wang reiterated China’s strategic partnership with Pakistan and its stance on anti-terrorism efforts.
