
Kolkata, 2 May (H.S.) : The results of the 2025 West Bengal Madhyamik (Class 10) Examination were announced on Friday, with an overall pass percentage of 86.56%. Adrit Sarkar, a student of Raiganj Coronation High School, secured the top rank in the state, setting a new milestone.
The results were officially declared at 9 AM by Ramanuj Gangopadhyay, President of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. He stated that a total of 969,425 students appeared for the examination this year, marking an increase of 62,000 candidates compared to last year. Sixty-six students secured positions in the top 10 merit list, indicating shared ranks.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her congratulations to the successful candidates through a post on X (formerly Twitter). She wrote, “Heartfelt congratulations to all students who have passed the Madhyamik examination. I wish you continued success in the days ahead. I also extend my greetings to your parents, guardians, and teachers on this joyous occasion. To those who did not succeed, I urge you not to be disheartened—keep working hard, and success will surely follow.”
In terms of district-wise performance, Purba Medinipur ranked first, followed by Kalimpong in second place, Kolkata in third, and Paschim Medinipur in fourth. The Board highlighted that the results were published within just 70 days of the completion of the examinations.
