
Delhi, 26 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rozgar Mela today on April 26, distributing over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across various Government departments via videoconferencing. He emphasized that this event marks the beginning of new responsibilities for the youth, crucial for strengthening India’s economy, enhancing internal security, and building modern infrastructure. He expressed confidence that these young individuals will fulfill their roles with dedication, contributing to India’s growth as a developed nation. Modi highlighted the importance of youth in nation-building, stating that their engagement leads to rapid progress and global recognition.
Through initiatives like Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India, the government is fostering employment and self-employment opportunities for youth, showcasing their potential in technology and innovation. He noted that digital platforms like UPI and GeM exemplify how youth are driving change in the digital economy, with India leading in real-time digital transactions.
The Manufacturing Mission aims to bolster the ‘Make in India’ initiative, creating jobs in various sectors, especially in MSMEs. Noteworthy achievements in industries like automobile and footwear have generated significant employment, while advancements in Inland Water Transport have also increased opportunities for youth across the nation.
Mumbai is set to host the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, aimed at empowering youth creators in media, gaming, and entertainment.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted that this summit presents a unique platform for young innovators to connect with investors and showcase their talents. Various workshops will expose youth to advancements in AI, XR, and immersive media, propelling India’s digital content future. Emphasizing inclusivity, he noted that Indian women are excelling across fields, with the recent UPSC results showing women in the top two ranks.
Initiatives like Self-Help Groups and collateral-free loans are empowering rural women and fostering opportunities, with over 90 lakh groups engaging more than 10 crore women.
Addressing youth employed recently, he stressed hard work and public service. Shri Modi encouraged them to plant trees for their mothers as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign and to promote health, linking it to productivity. He urged youth to leverage the Mission Karmayogi initiative for their growth, reaffirming that dedicated service to citizens is vital for national progress. He concluded by expressing confidence that India’s potential will be realized through their dedication and sincerity.
In alignment with the Prime Minister’s commitment to prioritize employment generation, the 15th Rozgar Mela is set to occur at 47 locations nationwide. This event aims to offer substantial opportunities for youth empowerment, enabling them to effectively contribute to national development. The new recruits, selected from various parts of the country, will be joining the Central Government across multiple Ministries and Departments. These include the Department of Revenue, the Ministry of Personnel and Public Grievances and Pensions, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Posts, the Department of Higher Education, the Ministry of Railways, and the Ministry of Labour & Employment, among others.
