Kampala, July 23 (H.S.): Uganda will host the Asia/Africa playoff for the 2027 Rugby World Cup on July 26 at Mandela National Stadium, featuring Namibia and the UAE. Namibia, having lost to Zimbabwe in the qualifiers, has a final chance to qualify for the World Cup if they win.
Herbert Mensah, president of Rugby Africa, expressed satisfaction over Uganda hosting the match, noting it as a significant event and appreciating the support from the Ugandan government and Uganda Rugby Union. The UAE team arrived on Tuesday and, if victorious, will qualify for the World Rugby Repechage tournament in November 2025, offering another path to the 2027 World Cup in Australia.
