Kangpokpi (Manipur), 28 February (HS): A joint team of Kangpokpi District Police, CRPF, Forest Department Kangpokpi and SDC Saikul Block carried out an poppy destruction operation on the banks of the Ethoy river in Somphung village of Lungtin sub-division under Saikul police station area.

During the operation, about 50 acres of illegal poppy cultivation was destroyed. The administration has warned that strict action against illegal cultivation will continue.
